5 Question Friday... Don't forget to come back Monday for Blog Contest

1. If you could have any talent and turn it into an occupation, what would it be?
I think a cook would be the funnest thing for me. I love watching the cooking shows, that or a designer of homes.
2. Would you rather have a house at the beach or a cabin in the woods?
Oh for sure the BEACH the more I think about it. I would sit on a chair everynight and morning and watch the waves. It would be really relaxing.
3. Is there any meaning or reasoning for the names you chose for your child/children?
My daughters name is Ronda because her dads name is Ron, our son was named by my ex and he named him Jesse James. I agreed as long as I could call him J.J. and it never stuck with anyone in the family. LOL
4. What is your guilty pleasure? (I know we've done this one before, but I'm guessing people's "guilty pleasures" change frequently. At least, mine do!)
Shopping through antique stores.
5. Do you live in a house that is deep cleaned or straightened?
Straightened.. Well right now its a mess with family staying here in our 2 bedroom home. I am taking pictures of baskets full of coffee and stuff to put on my store and they are everywhere. Good thing my husband is working a lot this week or he'd be going crazy with the mess.

5 Question Friday... Don't forget to leave comment for Octobers Blog contest..

1. Who is the better cook, you or your spouse?
Although my husband is a good cook, I think I am and he thinks he is. LOL
2. How often do you talk to your mom?
Oh my I talk to her a few times a day and spend 2 or 3 days a week doing something with her.
3. Are you adventurous in the kitchen or stick to the recipe?.
That depends on what I am making. If it's something new or fancy I want to make for dinner I get adventurous..
4. Is your second toe longer than your big toe?
I have always asked people this question so I can't wait to see how many have the second toe longer like me.. My second toe is longer than my big toe, and I have always been told that it means you are sexy and a good lover.. LOL
5. Do you dress up for Halloween? (Bonus question: What will you be this year?)
This year I don't plan on it. We only get 3 trick or treaters here at this house. I did dress up when I was in my 20's and 30's though.

5 Question Friday... Don't forget to leave comment for Octobers Blog contest..

1. What is your favorite Halloween candy?

I love smarties, malt balls, the gooey peanut butter kisses. I love all candy so there is no way I can just say one. Hello....

2. Do you fold your socks?

Yes, I turn them into each other.

3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?

That its really hard to loose weight after age 30, so keep myself in shape more. It creeps on so slowly and takes forever to get it off.

4. What is the most significant difference between you and your significant other?

I love going where there are crowds of people having fun, and he hates crowds of any kind. I love to window shop, and he hates shopping unless its for something that has to do with fishing or hunting.

He already left to work but I would have to say
1. caring, creative, compassionate....

Five Question Friday

First off I want to invite everyone to read my last 2 posts and enter the big giveaway, with a new prize being added each week. It's going on right now. More prizes to come before this contest is over. Have fun and Good Luck...
Really simple and fun contest.. 2 great prizes and more being added.. Whoo hoo

1. What do you listen to while driving?

I don't drive because it scares me to drive. I quit driving about 17 years ago because my car wasn't running right. Then it just became something I didn't do anymore as I was always with my Mom, Sister or friend. Now I panic to even think about it. I wish I never stopped doing it. One of my biggest regrets in live. When I am with my mom we listen to Joyce Meyers. Gotta love her, she is so positive.

2. What is your least favorite thing about Fall?

The Rain and cold. It always seems to rain on Halloween and my granddaughter doesn't want to stay out very long.

3. What does your dream house look like, inside and out?

It would be all one level as I don't like going up and down the stairs at all. It would have 4 bedrooms , mine being the largest with a fireplace, one of them for guest, also 3 bathrooms, again mine being the largest. It would have a swimming pool with hot tub out back and a nice big landscaped back yard. So we could have lots of people over for BBQ's and enough room to play volley ball and other games. Lots of pretty flowers that stayed nice without me having to do any work to them. A motor home and a golf cart parked in the garage with the whole above the garage area being a Mother in law home for my Mom to come stay when ever she wanted.

4. Would you ever own a minivan?

We own a van now and my husband drives it to work more than his truck. I love it. It's an older one but gets us to where we want to go.

5. Do you wash new clothes before wearing them?

No, I love wearing them off the rack for the first time. But I did see a show maybe on Oprah and they said that you should wash them. I love putting them on without having to iron them right off the bat.

Long but OH so Funny !!!!!

A group of 15 year old girlfriends discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed upon that they should meet at the Dairy Queen next to the Ocean View restaurant because they only had $6.00 between them and Jimmy Johnson, that cute boy in Social Studies, lives on that street and they might see him and they can ride their bikes there.

10 years later, the group of 25 year old girlfriends discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed upon that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the beer was cheap, they had free snacks, the band was good, there was no cover and there were lots of cute guys.

10 years later, at 35 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed upon that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the cosmos were good, it was right near the gym and if they go late enough, there wouldn't be too many whiny little kids.

10 years later, at 45 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed upon that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the martinis were big, and the waiters there had tight pants and nice buns.

10 years later, at 55 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the food there was reasonable, the wine list was good, they had windows that open in case of a hot flash, and fish is good for your cholesterol.

10 years later, at 65 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because lighting was good and they have an early bird special.

10 years later, at 75 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because food was not too spicy, the restaurant was handicapped accessible and they even had an elevator!

10 years later, at 85 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because they had never been there before.

Heres a little trivia , How many did you know ?

These are things that I didn't know. And not many people know this...

1. Q: Why are many coin banks shaped like pigs?

A: Long ago, dishes and cookware in Europe were made of a dense orange clay called 'pygg'. When people saved coins in jars made of this clay, the jars became known as 'pygg banks.' When an English potter misunderstood the word, he made a bank that resembled a pig. And it caught on.

2. Q: Did you ever wonder why dimes, quarters and half dollars have notches, while pennies and nickels do not?

A: The US Mint began putting notches on the edges of coins containing gold and silver to discourage holders from shaving off small quantities of the precious metals. Dimes, quarters and half dollars are notched because they used to contain silver. Pennies and nickels aren't notched because the metals they contain are not valuable enough to shave.

3. Q: Why do men's clothes have buttons on the right while women's clothes have buttons on the left?

A: When buttons were invented, they were very expensive and worn primarily by the rich. Because wealthy women were dressed by maids, dressmakers put the buttons on the maid's right! Since most people are right-handed, it is easier to push buttons on the right through holes on the left. And that's where women's buttons have remained since.

4. Q. Why do X's at the end of a letter signify kisses?

A: In the Middle Ages, when many people were unable to read or write, documents were often signed using an X. Kissing the X represented an oath to fulfill obligations specified in the document. The X and the kiss eventually became synonymous.

Hi girlfriends,
I have been so busy with getting my house caught up the last few days. I had spent all of the last 2 weeks helping my daughter move her things into a storage so she and my Granddaughter could come and stay here until she gets herself caught up on things and save first, last and deposit for a new smaller rental.
Now that we have her things boxed up and the windows washed and rugs shampooed its getting down to business here. Sorry that I have been missing in action.
I also need prayer this week for my niece and kids as we just found out yesterday that my niece's boyfriend was shot and killed in Mexico. They say it was just a drive by shooting when he was walking home from the bakery. They had broke up 6 months ago and he went to go see relatives back home in Mexico where he was born and had a few family members living there. She has a 3 yr. old boy by him, and her daughter was raised by him for 7 years, he was her step daddy.
We need lots of prayers as we plan a memorial for him this weekend. They are burying him in Mexico tomorrow so we won't have the body, but she still wants everything to be the same at the memorial. She and her daughter both need prayer for peace and comfort. We also want the person who did this to be found. They are taking this hard as expected. Hearing something like this out of the blue. If I can count on my friends to pray for their guidance , I would appreciate it. They need prayer for comfort and peace as well.
I was going to have a contest this week as I have many new things to show you. I will be having that next week so come back and sign up for some prizes. Bless you all and Thanks for the prayers. Kath'

hERE aRE ALL mY mOMS rOOSTErS aND ChiCKS / Fridays Questions is below this post..

Five Question Friday

1. Are you a neat sleeper or a messy sleeper?

Oh This one is easy. I am a light sleeper that tosses and turns all night. I get up many times to finally stay up after 4 or 5 hours of sleep. The older I get the less sleep I get. All the girls in my family are this way and we laugh that when we are 90 yrs. old do we only get to plan on one hour of sleep ? I have been known to get up and find chocolate in the middle of the night. This I know is true because it will be melted all over me, the bed, the pillow case etc. I do have a neat bed when I get up in the morning though. It doesn't take me long to make when my husbands out of town. Just pull the blankets down and wala...

2. Fill in the blank. I wish I was more __pain free______________.

3. What is something that you wish you had been warned about?

That after you hit 30 that it is harder to loose the weight you pack on in your 20's. It so easy to put on and ten times harder to get it off.

4. What was the best thing you ever found at a garage sale/flea market?

Oh this one is hard because I am the flea marketholic. I got a rose night light for a dollar, and a really neat set of 3 pictures that were someones grandma's. I will take pictures of these later and get them on here for you to see. Every ones still sleeping. lol

5. If you could have any meal brought to you right now, what would it be?

Oh Boy, it's 5 a.m. so I would have to say that an order of homemade biscuit and gravy. It has to be homemade though. Its so hard to find a restaurant that truly makes it themselves, anymore. It's frustrating !!! I would want a nice hot cup of Tentley orange/ peach tea as well.

Joined some Friday Fun

1. Did you have a favorite blanket or toy as a kid? If so, do you still have it?

I did have a blanket that I had to carry with me where ever I went. I sat and played with the silk part at the end of the blanket all the time and still do to this day to fall asleep. Yes you heard me right. I still do it to this day. When the blanket gets old it is getting harder and harder to find blankets that have the silk on the end of the blanket.

2. Do you dream in color?
Yes I have had colorful dreams. Especially around Christmas time.

3. How tall are you? Do you wish you were shorter or taller?

I am 5 feet 3 in. I like the height I am. I just wish I was thinner.. LOL

4. If you could have any one's (celeb or other) voice as the guide on your GPS, who would it be?

Andy Garcia

5. Do you return your shopping cart to the corral or leave it wherever in the parking lot?

I always take my cart back to the corral. It is a petpev of my Mom and mine. I know someone who doesn't and my Mom and I do it for her. She is getting better at leaving it anywhere.

jEANS, JeaNS, JeAns

No matter which way we spell it we all Love them. Love to wear them , Love the feel of them and Love them on us....

You love 'em and need 'em, but do you look fabulous in 'em? The perfect-looking pair of jeans is a benchmark of your personal style ‑- so how do you find just the right fit and wash for a price you can live with?
When shopping for jeans, begin with comfort and try on lots of different styles, says Scott Formby, a creative director at Lucky Jeans. First and foremost, he advises, whether you're skinny, shapely or somewhere in between, jeans should be so comfortable you hardly know you're wearing them. Secondly, find jeans that look and feel right for you. "Jeans are not like a basic V-neck sweater or a simple blouse," he says. "They're a personal thing and become a part of you, and that's the beauty."

More tips from Formby:
Love how they feel. When you're sitting, jeans can look and feel completely different than when you're standing. If the waistband of your jeans sticks out at the tailbone or feels tight when you sit, try another size.
"Jeans are as varied as the women who buy them," Formby says. "We have some customers who want to show their bellies and some who don't." Jeans fit everyone differently. A pair that bunches in the crotch-to-waist area on one type of body might look fine on another body type. (If you find styles that bunch, try a lower-rise jean, Formby suggests.)
Know your fabrics. Higher-priced jeans are often more expensive because the denim comes from outside the U.S. All Mankind jeans, for example, use fabric from Japan and Italy. Jean fashionistas claim the weave of higher-priced denim is finer and more delicate looking yet still sturdy enough to hold a flare. In addition, the fade, or "wash," of the jeans affects the look and price of the garment. Pricier jeans are often hand processed, literally stone washed, one garment at a time. Washes are great, says Formby, because once you find a style you love, you can simply duplicate it in different washes, giving variety to your wardrobe: "You can have the same jean that fits great in five different washes ‑- everything from a cleaned, starched jean to a worn, faded look."
Choose the right silhouette for your shape. When it comes to the way your jeans look on you, it's the cut that matters.

Rules of thumb:
Baggy jeans can make you look larger than you really are.
Tapered jeans magnify the difference between the upper and lower leg, making thighs seem bigger.

High-waisted jeans highlight the space between the waist and hips, making both seem wider
Long jeans, with cuffs over your shoe, make your legs appear longer
If you want to accentuate a rounded behind, stretch jeans will cover your curves nicely; if your backside is flat, however, stretch jeans make it flatter, so stick with regular denim (or buy stretch jeans in a larger size)

Sometimes it pays to pay. Usually when you're buying jeans, the higher the price, the better the quality. The fabric may be a tighter weave, which makes it softer, and the more stitches on the seams, the higher the price. Rivets, wrinkles and hand-washing also up the price. Even so, is it ever justifiable to spend more than $100 on a pair of jeans? Yes, says Formby, because they will never go out of style. In addition, he says, "Good jeans age well, while the color and fit of a cheaper pair of jeans might not make it through the long haul." On the other hand, trendy jeans with features like embroidered patches or built-in belts might become unfashionable well before they wear out.

The most flattering style, ever. A slightly flared leg or a boot cut, combined with a low-rise waist, is the most flattering and lengthening jean for most bodies. This look is fitted around the derriere; it enhances the length of the legs, and the flare balances the width of the thigh. Shop for jeans with a short center seam to give your body definition and separation. Even if you wear jeans on the loose or slightly baggy side, wear them fitted around your backside. And, if you find a jean you love that isn't perfect in one area, consider taking it to a good tailor.

Pay attention to pockets. High little pockets in the back make a behind look bigger, so choose centered, larger pockets. In general, back pockets look better, but if you buy a pair with no pockets, choose a style with a yoke on the back, which will bring the eyes to the center. Front pockets should be on the shallow side, because extra fabric adds bulk. And then there are pockets cut and built to actually lift the butt. James Jeans calls its back pockets the "Wonderbra of the derriere."

I waited way to long to start my project for this fun party. I had all these ideas in my head on what I was going to do on top of one of my pretty boxes , that I store my project things in.
When it came down to the dead line for this project to get done I wasn't able to find my beautiful white ruffled ribbon and my rhinestone's that I bought to put around the picture.
This is what I was able to get done. Its nice , but nothing like I had visioned this box it be.
I wanted to get this on here today to meet the deadline. I will get more added to this on the weekend to give it that WOW affect I wanted.

I am not sure that its showing you how bright the colors are and how gorgeous this cross necklace is. This weekends shopping spree

Elissa and I went looking through the antique stores in downtown Snohomish this last Saturday. We never make it through all of them but always have fun looking through them at things we wish we had, or things we would never own if our life's depended on it.

I think my biggest find that day was actually at the garage sale on the way there. We drove by this garage sale and I thought I saw a Victorian lady or something. I wasn't sure but in my mind it was big and old. So we turned around and this is what was there. A lovely picture of a girl and her cat. She says it was her moms or grandma's she doesn't remember . But , I bought it up and am going to take it in the antique store I have my things in and resale it. It's quite big and I haven't any room for it , but thought if I took it there at least I could see it on the wall until or if it sales.

The two brides I found in a antique shop. Elissa loves the small one, and I do too. But, I had to get the other one because she was so irresistible. I couldn't decided which one I loved the most. The little one is a bell .. Which one of the 2 brides is your favorite ??

3 year old nephew's Birthday Party

This day couldn't of turned out better for my nephew's Party. He was so Happy at each present he opened. No matter if it was shoes or trucks.
He had so much fun with the balloon balls. The cake was delicious and it was so hot out. When you don't have rain at an outdoor function around here, everyone's HAPPY.
We start the day off with a picture of my granddaughter Hanna, then is my sister Jan holding my niece Ari , My niece Melissa with my Mom, my sister Sandi with her step-son, and my niece Jamie, then we have the Birthday boy Issac. My other nephew Caiden in the striped shirt fell on the deck that day and almost split his head wide open. It was a bad hit, but he only got a bump. The things kids can take is so amazing. If it was one of us we would of been in the ambulance. LOL

This has been along time waiting to post

I have wanted to announce this winning for along time, but I have been so behind on my postings ,and in and out of bed for the last few months. I want to take the time to tell my friends and family that I won 100.00 and show off what I got with my winnings. I had Won a Hugh prize at the end of the year. I won 100.00 from Shabby Cottage Shops. Yes, you read it right 100.00 dollars to spend anyway I wanted in any of their Stores. http://www.shabbycottageshops.com/.
I had so much fun browsing through their stores.... We saw so many things we wanted to get. We spent the money 10 times in our head. Hanna and I looked for two months through all the shops and just couldn't decide what we should get with our winnings. We knew we only had one chance to make this big decision. We talked about getting many different things and finally came up with two things. A phone or gumball machine. We wanted something in her bedroom that she could have for years to come and that wouldn't be out dated no matter what age she is. Also, something I would enjoy of course.
We picked out our prize and dreamed about it for a couple weeks until it was made Especially for us. Its the most gorgeous french phone anyone I know has. We fill so spoiled. Hanna loves talking on it and we sit and stare at it all the time. It puts a smile on our face each time we look at it. The pictures above do not do it justice. If you go to Jill's site " Rose Cottage Chic you can see all of the things she makes with these pretty roses on them and many more items as well..http://www.rosecottagechic.com/.
Hanna and I want to Thank Deb for drawing our name and Jill for the prettiest phone we have ever seen . Jill even surprised us with a round hanging wooden name plate with pearls all around it. Now nothing can get better than that surprise. Hanna just beamed when she saw her name was tied on there with a pink ribbon. Thank you girls at Shabby Cottage Shops for making us smile.

Happy Mothers Day

Mothers are renowned for giving advice--because they care so much about our welfare. I went on a site that was asking there members for the most memorable advice they received from their moms, whether or not they followed it. I read their sampling of mothers' pearls of wisdom.
So, I thought I would ask each of you what advice did or has your mother ever given or gave you. I thought we could enjoy a little in each others life's today.
My mom has always taught me
.... Let go and let God (my most treasured advice).
.... What goes around comes around (I wholeheartedly believe this).
.... Treat others as you would be treated....This one is priceless.
Here is a few that they wrote down too.
1. "No, that wooden board would not make a good slide!" I did anyway and got a buttfull of splinters! The laughter hurt worse than the splinters.

2. My mom always said: If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. I try to follow it, but I shamefully don't all the time.

3. You get what you pay for. You can never own enough fine jewelry, and that there are buttheads everywhere !!!

4. When cooking, always place handle of pot towards the back away from flames.
5. Talk to children at their level, not down to them.
6. Not to stick your finger in the socket, and to always wear clean underwear.
