New things at my store

I have been so busy today I almost forgot to do a blog post again. I don't want to start missing days.

I had one all in mind to do tonight which was all of the little kids in the family got together today and dyed eggs together for Easter. I was told I didn't need to send my camera, that others had one. But lo and behold I was just told that no one came with a camera. The little kids get together in the family and go to my sisters and dye eggs together. Kids and no camera I said. lol

So I will talk about my new creations. I was hoping I had all week long to get more made so I can show you all the colors I have planned for these. But will go ahead and show them to you tonight and will share the others on a later date.

I make cupcake pin cushions as you all know, and now I make cake pin cushions. This week I only have 3 made as more are on there way. These are Double layer cake pin cushions. I will be making them in many colors as we all have different taste/favorite colors. I will be making triple layer cakes also.

These were so fun for me to make. They are also so practical to use. You take the top layer off and it has a magnet under it to pick up all your spills of pins. I have now made it easy for you to clean up. These could be used for any age group, as it would put a smile on any ones face to get a cake of their own.

I also will be wrapping them in pink Tulle and tied with a bow if you'd like. Leave that in the comment area when sending me your order. Wish I had lots more to show you girls. I apologize that I wasn't ready to do this blog. Here is the ones I have done at the moment.

Do you feel you lost an hour ??

What would you do if you had the hour back that we lost this morning ? What do you feel you would use that time on ? Another hour of sleep, watching a movie, cleaning the house, making a project, working on your blog ?? What could you do in an hour ????

The story on Spring it forward..
The phrase "Spring forward, Fall back" helps people remember how Daylight Saving Time affects their clocks. At 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March, we set our clocks forward one hour ahead of Standard Time ("Spring forward"). We "Fall back" at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday in November by setting our clock back one hour and thus returning to Standard Time.
The change to Daylight Saving Time allows us to use less energy in lighting our homes by taking advantage of the longer and later daylight hours. During the eight-month period of Daylight Saving Time, the names of time in each of the time zones in the U.S. (map) change as well. Eastern Standard Time (EST) becomes Eastern Daylight Time, Central Standard Time (CST) becomes Central Daylight Time (CDT), Mountain Standard Time (MST) becomes Mountain Daylight Time (MDT), Pacific Standard Time becomes Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), and so forth.
Daylight Saving Time was instituted in the United States during World War I in order to save energy for war production by taking advantage of the later hours of daylight between April and October. During World War II the federal government again required the states to observe the time change. Between the wars and after World War II, states and communities chose whether or not to observe Daylight Saving Time. In 1966, Congress passed the Uniform Time Act, which standardized the length of Daylight Saving Time.
Daylight Saving Time is four weeks longer since 2007 due to the passage of the Energy Policy Act in 2005. The Act extended Daylight Saving Time by four weeks from the second Sunday of March to the first Sunday of November, with the hope that it would save 10,000 barrels of oil each day through reduced use of power by businesses during daylight hours. Unfortunately, it is exceedingly difficult to determine energy savings from Daylight Saving Time and based on a variety of factors, it is possible that little or no energy is saved by Daylight Saving Time.
Arizona (except some Indian Reservations), Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa have chosen not to observe Daylight Saving Time. This choice does make sense for the areas closer to the equator because the days are more consistent in length throughout the year.

Easter Parties

Easter is coming up fast. We all know Easter is usually for the kids. Its time to get out the dye and put them in lots of cups around the table to dye tons of eggs that we are going to have to eat for days and days it seems like.

The kids can be so creative. They seem to come up with the neatest colors as they dip the eggs and redip the eggs into their favorite colors. They get the wax crayon and draw lines around the egg or put polka dots all over them. They might choose to put a smiley face on one or two.

Its so much fun to watch their eyes light up when they are hunting around the house to find the basket that the Easter Bunny has hidden just for them , full of candy jelly beans, colored eggs, malted chocolate, and Reese's peanut butter cups.

What is your favorite Easter candy ? What is your favorite Easter memory ? Is it going to a large park and hunting for the pennies in the hay. I remember I almost won a bike when I was smaller and was so excited. If I would of only found the golden egg before the other kid it would of been mine !!!!!!

My mom use to put salt in trails for me and my sisters to follow to lead us to our basket. Which was Hugh and wrapped in different colored cello paper. I need some new ideas to do for Hanna so I can start some new traditions.. Let me know what things you did , or still do to have fun at Easter time.

This is a trip I took on Saturday with Elissa to meet up with Sassy Gail and her daughter Jen. It was so pretty out and the perfect day to go through the Pike Place Market. It's a place where tons of vendors come and sale their products of fresh food, flowers seafood and meats, jams, and all handmade things. This was a carriage that gives people rides around or back to their car.
This was a young man who was singing and playing his guitar. You see that a lot here. On each block there is someone singing or playing some instrument. He seemed so nice. I snapped his picture and told him he was going to be on my blog. He was so happy... I bought a CD from him for only five bucks. His name is Andre Lovett.

This was a gal who was trying on these hats this woman was selling for 50 bucks. I thought that was a lot of money, but I see lots of kids wearing them. They are very popular. I told her she was going to be on my blog also and then she started posing. hee hee

This shot was not taken well on the Veggies , but loved how they lined them up. It made them so colorful.

This place is well known for the seafood. This was the crab legs. Can you believe it ? You would only have to buy one for two people for dinner. You might still end up with left overs.

This was some cooked shrimp they had there. It looked so yummo. I wanted to bite into them right then and there.

This was some Hugh frozen shrimp and scampi's. Aren't they HUGH ? I couldn't believe it. They throw fish in the air when someone buys one. Lots and lots of people stand around just to watch. It very well known.

This was my favorite thing. These Hugh Lobsters. I wanted to buy one so bad to bring home and surprise Dean for our dinner. I know he has probably seen them this big, but we have never gotten one. I knew I had so many things I was looking at to buy. So I passed them up.. lol

This lady made all colors of pigs. I thought they looked neat all in a row the way she had them laid out.

We all stopped and ate a restaurant named Cutters right on the water. My friend Elissa always wants to go there when we are in that area. We all had something different and each meal was gorgeous when it came to us the way they looked. Each meal was delicious also. I had Seafood Chowder and some delicious bread. Elissa had fish and chips with a coleslaw. Sassy had a grilled piece of chicken with a wonderful Beet salad with different colored beets and raspberries in it also. This picture is our Waiter waiting on the table by us.

This is to show you all the big buildings in Seattle. This was across the street from our restaurant.

This was right at one of the entrances of the Pike Place. I hope you can see the sign. We had a blast here. It was the second time Sassy Gail and I have met. It was so neat to meet at a place like this so we had most of the day to browse through it. We only got to see all of the upper deck area things. The time just flew by. Elissa and I are going there again to go look through all the antique stores down below. I hope I can meet Sassy again on that trip. I hope you enjoyed the stroll of Pike Place Market.
Also the winner from last weeks blog is Shabby Shan. I will get a hold of you for your address. I hope you all had fun.

New Puppy without a name

Hi Guys,
I am sure most of you have heard that I got a new puppy on Saturday afternoon. He is a full bred shitzu and was the runt on the batch and is 3 months old and weights about 5 lbs. right now. The dad weighed 8 lbs. and the mom was 7lbs. So he isn't going to get very big.

I had a shitzu once before about 6 or 7 years ago but she had hurt her hip by jumping off our bed and I took her to the vet and they gave her some medication and it killed her. Of course they say it wasn't the meds. That she must of ate something , somewhere. My husband hasn't wanted another dog but, I let him know its time we get one to enjoy while Hanna is little also.

I am doing a blog contest because he needs a name. Here are some of the ones we have picked out and I would like to know what your thoughts are and if any of you have a name you can throw out there to help us name him.. Please leave it in your comment.
1. Oreo
2. Ziggy
3. Snookie
4. Chasper
5. Scooter
6. Lil' Bit

I was thinking last night that when I was younger I had a dog that was so little and everytime someone came over to see her I would say, doesn't she look bigger ? They would reply well maybe a Lil' bit .. So hence became her name. So when this hit me last night I thought OMG he could have a name that matched my store and my blog, how perfect. But, my husband and other family members are saying it sounds like a girls name, so I should keep thinking up names. I wanted to play with him for a few days to see what his personality was like before naming him. Saturday morning the name Ziggy was in the running. Saturday afternoon Snookie was in the running, Sunday Scooter is the one. If you have any cute boy names for a small, but a little stocky looking, fluffy white and black dog then put them down for me in your comment.

Even if your name isn't chosen you have a chance to win. We always have Hanna put all the names in a hat and draw one out. So, have fun thinking up names and keep coming back and writing them on here for me. We hope you think he is as cute as we do.

Here is some pictures of him and Hanna. Oh shoot I forgot to take a picture of the prize. As soon as everyones up and I can turn on lights around here I will take some and get it on here. For now I guess it'll have to be a surprise. LOL

Hanna's Birthday Party

Just a few pictures to show you how Hanna's Birthday Party turned out. The whole Fam damily showed up to celebrate Hanna's 7th Birthday. She actually turned 7 in December but we have the party in January after the Holidays are over and every one's not as busy.

We decided to make sugar cookies and cupcakes and had lots of candy trimmings on a table and let each child have fun decorating their own sugar cookies and cupcakes to eat there, and to take home. They loved that idea.
It's so had to think up enough games for them to play because so many of the kids can't read to play those type of games. So, we did pin the tail on the donkey and the pinata game. She had a guitar one this year that everyone loved. I didn't get outside in time to get a picture of that.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Come back next week for my first Blog contest. Did I say Fun, Fun, Fun.
